Bucket elevators

Nuova Lecon bucket elevators are used for vertical transportation of bulk materials of various sizes. These machines are usually built with shaped carbon steel sheets, zinc-coated through “Sendzimir” hot process. They are composed by the following elements:

  • Central body, consisting of modular metallic elements built with four shaped steel sheets bolted to each other.
  • Smooth rubber ring, jointed through mechanical fastening. The buckets used for material conveyance are fixed to the rubber ring through belt-shaped bolts and are designed to ensure their complete emptying.
  • Towing head, built in shaped steel sheet and profiles, where driving drum and driving shaft are installed.
The driving drum consists of stainless steel squares, properly shaped and welded on high-thickness discs. The driving shaft, removable and interchangeable, is installed and fixed with self-centering blocking units. The “UCP” supports of the driving drum and shaft are installed outside the flank for easy maintenance and lubrication.
  • Motorization, consisting of a pendular-type gearbox in oil bath complete with anti-return device and an asynchronous electric motor with cage-type rotor.
Transmission is carried out through a set of pulleys and trapezoidal belts that can be easily installed and removed.
  • Base, built in shaped steel sheets strengthened through reinforcement profiles, complete with two doors to make cleaning and emptying operations easier. Return drum and return shaft are located into the base; their “UCP” supports are installed outside the flank to facilitate maintenance operations.

Nuova Lecon bucket elevators can also be built in painted carbon-steel, or with parts in contact with material made in AISI 304 stainless steel.
The buckets can be supplied in nylon, carbon-steel or AISI 304 stainless steel based on the material to be transported and/or client’s requirements.

The bucket elevators produced by Nuova Lecon are widely used in the ceramic sector, in the plants for production of dry mortars for the building industry, in the concrete and cement industry, in port and agri-food sectors.
